Lakshmi Narayan Temple in Delhi, also known as the Birla Mandir. It’s a Hindu temple which is located in Mandir Marg, situated west of the Connaught Place Delhi. Its spread over 7.5 acres.

Temple is dedicated to Lord Vishnu and Goddess Lakshmi. The architecture of this temple is so beautiful. Camera and phone must be left in a locker rest of things you can carry inside.

HISTORY -
Lakshmi Narayan usually refers to Lord Vishnu, also known as Narayan. Lakshmi Narayan temple inaugurated by Mahatma Gandhi and was built by Mr. Baldeo Das Birla from 1933 and 1939 (six years).

ARCHITECTURE –
Sris Chandra Chatterjee was the architect of this place. Many Hindu numeric symbols and quotes from “Bhagavad Gita” can easily see on the wall of Temple. This place has three-storied with “Nagara stylearchitecture. When you will go inside the temple you will see a big hall known as “Geeta Bhawan” with lots of colorful paintings about Indian gods. Length of the main tower is 165 ft. Temple is painted by two main colors.
Red – Symbol of spirituality.
Yellow – Symbol of power.

Others side of this temple is devoted to Lord Shiva, Krishna, and Buddha. Lakshmi Narayan Temple was the first largest temple in Delhi. Thousands of people come here during Hindu festivals like Janmashtami and Diwali. Outside of the temple, there is a very beautiful Park.

This is providing for Travelers from out of town and scholars who are getting knowledge about the Hindu religion.

TIMINGS AND ENTRY FEE-
This temple remains open all the days in a week from 7 am to 12 pm then 2 pm to 9 pm. There is no entry fee. Best time to visit the temple is from October to March.

Nearest Delhi Metro station is R. K. Ashram Marg metro station, located about 2 km away. Its located only 1.5 Km from “Cannaught place”.
