Temporary Visitor’s Visa or Tourist Visa

One of the most common visas being applied to by Indians is the Temporary Visitor’s Visa or Tourist Visa. The application of this visa is often noted as the easiest way to visit the Philippines. However, in the process of the application, the applicant has to undergo an interview done by the visa processor. Failure to supplement necessary documents or failure to prove the purpose of the visit may lead to the denial of visa and all fees paid for visa application is non-refundable.

Nonetheless, an Indian national who is on tourism purpose only can enter the Philippines and stay for fourteen (14) days even without bearing the Philippine visa as long as the individual is bearing the following: a) either a used or unused valid Japanese, Singaporean, American, Australian, United Kingdom, Canadian, or Schengen residence permanent permit or multiple entry visa, b) valid Indian passport with at least six months afar the date of departure from the Philippines, c) onward ticket to the next country of destination or return ticket, and d) no disparaging record with the Bureau of Immigration of the Philippines.

The fourteen (14) days stay can still be extended for an additional seven (7) days at the Bureau of Immigration. Nevertheless, the extension can only be done once since the maximum stay for an Indian national bearing the free visa entry is twenty-one (21) days. Moreover, Indians who wish to stay longer than twenty-one (21) days cannot get a Philippine visa in the Philippines and has to go back to India and secure a Philippine visa at the Philippine Embassy. Indian nationals possessing the Philippine visa can extend their visa several times depending on the discretion of the Bureau of Immigration.
