There are so many options for going to Chiang Mai from Bangkok. Chiang Mai is around 693 KM from Bangkok.

1. BY AIR -

 Chiang Mai has its own International airport. So you can easily book a flight to Chiang Mai from Bangkok. The fare will be not so expnsive.

Flight to Chiang Mai start from 1000 Baht from Bangkok. The flight will take 1 hour and 15 Minutes.

And this is the best way to reach Chiang Mai from Bangkok in less time. Chiang Mai airport is around 3 KM from city and you can easily get taxi from Airport.

2. BY BUS -

You can ride a bus to Chiang Mai from Northern Bus Terminal (Moh Chit) in Bangkok. The bus will takes around 12 hours.

The main bus stop in Chiang Mai is Arcade Bus Station.

VIP - 920 Baht

3. BY TRAIN -

You can get a trainn to Chiang Mai from Bangkok’s Hualamphong Train Station.

How to reach Chiang Mai from Bangkok

Train will take around 12 - 15 hours to rech in Chiang Mai.

You can book the train tickets in advance as well. There is 3 option of seating in Train the first, second and third class.

1st class with AC sleeper will cost around 1800 Baht. This will be with persnal washroom.  

Second class seat will cost around 500 Baht and the seat will be reclining.

Chiang Mai railway station is around 2.2 Km from Chan Klang Road and Night Bazar area.

From Chiang Mai railway station you can you can take a Tuk-Tuk that will cost 100 Baht.

You can aslo take a shared taxi, but you need to come on to the mainroad. It will only cost 40 Baht.

4. RENT A CAR -

You can easily rent a car in Bangkok. You just need an internation driving licence.
