How an Indian can get Philippines Citizenship
First an Indian national should apply for a TEMPORARY RESIDENT VISA (TRV) FOR ONE (1) YEAR if the Indian is married to a Filipino. To get TRV you should the Bureau of Immigration main office.
Documents required for TRV -
1. Joint letter request addressed to the Commissioner of Phillippines immigration from the applicant.
2. Fully filled application form. You can get the application form here - https://immigration.gov.ph/images/FORMS/18Dec2015/BI%20FORM%20CGAF-002-Rev%203.1.pdf
3. Photocopy of passport bio-page and latest visa. Passport should have the name of a Filipino spouse.
4. Birth Certificate of the Filipino spouse.
5. Marriage Certificate.
6. Valid National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) Clearance certificate.
7. BI Clearance Certificate.
How to apply for TRV -
1. Fill the application and arrange all the required documents as per the checklist.
2. Submit the documents and original passport in the central receiving unit (CRU) in BI main office in Manila.
3. Pay the visa fee to the cashier.
4. Pay the courier fee Ground floor.
6. Now submit the payment slip and the courier pouch to the central receiving unit.
7. Give your fingerprints.
8. After your visa approved then it will be couriered to your address with an ACR card.
9. It will cost around 37000 Pesos.
Now what you need to do for becoming a Filipino citizen -
An Indian married Filipino can acquire Filipino citizenship through the process of naturalization.
And there are some conditions.
1. Indians should be more than 21 years old.
2. He should stay continuous 10 years in the Philippines. If you are married to a Filipino it's 5 Years.
3. He should own some property in the Philippines.
4. He should some respectful occupation.
5. He should write and speak English and Filipino language.
6. There should be no crime registered on him in the Philippines.
7. His mental health should be good.
8. He should know the traditions and customs of the Philippines.
9. He should have good Filipino contacts or friends.
An Indian national should surrender his passport to the Indian embassy and get a “Passport surrender certificate” after he gets the Philippines citizenship.
The process to get Philippines citizenship-
1. File a request in a letter to the Bureau of Justice or Regional Trial Court in the Philippines. In this latter write also -
- Name
- Age
- Occupation
- place of birth
- date of arrival in the Philippines
- current address in the Philippines
2. Now visit local court with some documents. This process will take time like months.
