Internet is not working with the help of satellite. It works with cables. Some cables are spreads in Ocean known as Optic fiber or submarine cables. The company that is spreading these cables known as a Tier 1 company.

You can see the layout of submarine cables all over the world by visiting this website.

Now Tier 1 company has spread the cables with the help of other country telecommunication company. Now The telecommunications company in your country make the data center. Where every data stored. Whenever you need some data from the internet, These data centers will provide you with the help of an IP address.

The cables are speared in the ocean with the help of a sea plow.

Now when you search for anything online from your smartphone or PC are connected with a router or modem. Now your modem will connect your device with your ISP ( Internet service provider). The modem is connected to cables.

Your device has a unique IP (Internet protocol) address, so the data server can easily be identified from where the request comes from.

Each website on the internet has a unique URL (Uniform resource locater).

Your ISP has many data server which stored and send data like DNS (Domin name server).

ICANN ( Internet Corporation for Assigned Names ) is an organization that controls the Internet. It gives authority to other company -

- To sell domain names

It also decides the top-level domain like .com and .org.

How mobile data works -

In mobile data work with the help of service provider towers. There should be a signal tower near you if you want to access the internet by mobile data. This tower is connected by cables and sends data to your mobile by waves.

What is IP address -

Every device, server, and website has its IP address. When you type a website name in your browser the DNS server will send it to the internet service provider the data server in numbers.
