1.Sri Lanka is an island country located in the Indian Ocean. It just the southeast side of India. 

2.British rule over Sri Lanka for around 150 years. Sri Lanka became an independent country in 1948. 



3.Sri Lanka is also known by 2 names and they are -

- Perls of the Indian Ocean - Because of its natural beauty and shaped like pearls. 

- Teardrop of India - Because of its shape on the map

4.Srilankan national sports is volleyball but the most popular sport is cricket. 

5.Capital of Sri Lanka is Sri Jayawardenepura Kotte.

6.Sri Lanka's main export is tea and it's the 4th world's largest exporter of tea. 

7.Adam peak is a Mountain located in Sri Lanka and it's also known as Sri pada. There is a sacred footprint here which is 1.8 meters long. 

Buddist says it's a footprint of Buddha, Hindus say it's a footprint of lord hanuman or Shiva. Christians say it's a footprint of adam. 

8.Sri Lanka is one of the top 5 countries that export cinnamon.

9.Sri Lanka flags has a golden lion holding a sword. Its believed that the golden-colored flag was bought by the first king of Sri Lanka (Vijaya) from India.

10.The world's first woman prime minister was from Sri Lanka. Her name was “ Sirimavo Bandaranaike”. 

11.There are 2 official languages in Srilanka and they are -  Sinhala and Tamil.

12.People of Srilanka follow these main 4 religions - Buddhism - 70%

Hinduism - 12%

Islam - 9%

Christianity- 6%

13.Sri Lankan rupee (LKR) is the currency of Srilanka. 

1 $ = 193 LKR

1 INR = 2.6 LKR

14.People of India firstly lived in Srilanka. Around the 17th century, the British reach Srilanka and they made it a British colony. On 4th February 1948, Srilanka got independence from British rule.

15.There was a bridge that connects Sri Lanka to India until the 15th century. Strong cyclone damages that bridge. The name of this damaged bridge is adam bridge.

Hindu people believe that this bridge was made by Lord Rama.

This bridge was connected with Rameswaram (India) to Mannar (Sri Lanka). 

16.Largest and business city of Sri Lanka is Colombo. 

17.A train ride from Kandy to Ella in Srilanka is considered one of the most beautiful rides. You will see amazing natural beauty along the way. 

18.Lipton tea was originated in Sri Lanka in 1890. 

19.Sri Lanka economy mainly depends on -

Tea, cloths, rubber, and Agriculture items export.

20.Ethnic groups in Sri Lanka are - Sinhalese and Tamil (South Indian people). 

21.What to do and see in Srilanka - I have listed some of the places here -

- Sigiriya - This place is also known as lion rock. It's a big rock fortress. The height of this rock is around 200 meters. People can easily climb on this amazing rock and enjoy the natural beauty from the top. 

Lion rock is also UNESCO worlds heritage site. There is a pool and a little garden on lion rock. 

- Adam Peak - is also known as Sri pada. There is a sacred footprint here which is 1.8 meters long. 

-Yala National Park - You can see here varieties of animals. If you love watching leopard then This place is perfect for you. The entrance fee for this park is a little height. It will cost around 65$ per person. 

- Bentota - This town will provide you many beautiful beaches, luxury hotels, and amazing natural beauty. 

- Kandy - It's a most sacred place for Buddhist people because the Temple of the Tooth located here.

- Nuwara Eliya - Track here to see Lipton tea farms. You can also visit -

Hakgala Botanical Gardens and Ambewela Farm.

- Ride the Kandy to Ella Train - This train journey is one of the most scenic ones. Lots of amazing natural beauty on the way. This journey lasts for 5 - 6 hours.

What is the public transport in Chiang Mai Thailand There are many ways of transport in Chiang Mai .Here is the public transport in Chiang Mai . 1.RTC CITY BUS -  This mode of transport launce in 2018 in Chiang Mai and one of the cheapest modes of transportation.  The fare of the RTC City bus is only 30 Baht per ride.
