Tam-Awan Village in Baguio

Tam-Awan Village in Baguio is one of the top tourist attractions. If you really love nature then you should come here. It’s located on hills with many stairs. This village was created by “Chanum Foundation” in 1998 to promote the local Baguio Artists.

Tam-Awan Village in Baguio contain –

  • Art gallery.
  • Coffee shop. I tried there mountain tea, served with honey that was very nice.
  • Ifugao and Kalinga huts. Some of these huts are more than 100 years old. Most of the huts are made same as fugao and Kalinga (Places located in Mountains).

These huts and the other part of this village are used to be a workshop and exhibition. There restroom are also decorated with lots of colors. You can find here many beautiful painting made by well-known artist and you can buy those paintings as well.

 Tam Awan means “scenic point” in local language. One place is located here named as the “deck view” from here you can clearly see west Philippines sea. Artist will be available always if you want to make a sketch portrait.

HOW TO REACH TAM-AWAN VILLAGE IN BAGUIO –

BY JEEPNEY –
This village is four kilometers far from Baguio city.
From Baguio city market ride a Jeepney that says “Plaza-Quezon Hill-Tam-awan” and the other one ‘Long-long via Tam-awan”.
BY TAXI – Just tell driver to drop you Tam Awan Village, he will takes you there. You can easily get passenger taxi anywhere in Baguio city.
