How to use public transportation in Phuket
Phuket is full of beautiful beaches, amazing nightlife, and many sights. If you want to see all of these at a low price then you should know how to use public transportation in Phuket.
1. PHUKET SMART BUS -
These buses start from Phuket international airport to Rawai beach and vice versa. And these bus stops at 12 stations along the way, almost on every beach.

- Bangtao Beach - At Boat avenue
- Surin Beach
- Phuket Fantasea
- Kamala
- Patong Beach - Bus coming from the airport stop at Jungceylon shopping mall and going to the airport stop at Bangla road.
- Karon and Kata Beach
- Rawai.
Fare -
The bus fare starts from 50 Baht for a small distance and 170 Baht for long-distance.
This bus takes only 1.5 Hours to reach Rawai beach from Phuket international airport.
2. SONGTAEW – THE BLUE AND PINK BUS
These buses will take you from Phuket town to the beach. And the fare is 30 Baht.
They run every after 30 minutes from 6 am to 6 pm.
You can get a ride of Blue bus from Central or fresh market Ranong Road, Phang Nga Road, and Thepkasattri Road.
The destination of these buses is displayed in front. You can stop and ride them anywhere you want.
You can easily find them on the Patong beach road (End of the Bangla road) that going to a town near the tourist police box.
Fare -
A ride in Songthaew will be 30 to 50 Baht.
3. TUK TUK –
You can easily find Tuk Tuk in Phuket. They are good for a small distance. But before riding fix the price and destination first. Otherwise, they will ask so much price.
In Phuket Tuk-Tuk has 4 wheels.
4. MOTORBIKE –
You can easily hire a motorbike in Phuket. But before riding check its condition and outer part. They should be ok and working.
And driving a motorbike as a tourist can be dangerous in Phuket. Harsh and fast driving is common here. So be careful while driving a motorbike.
It will cost you around 150 Baht per day.
5. MOTORBIKE TAXI –
Good for a short distance. Also, fix the price and destination before riding. These drivers wear green and red vests so you can easily identify them.
6. GRAB TAXI APP –
Yes, you can also use this app to book your taxi anywhere in Phuket.
7. TAXI -
Taxi in Phuket is less expensive than the Tuk -Tuk. They have yellow and red clour and a taxi sign on top. Also, fix the price before riding.
8. FERRY AND BOAT -
You can catch the ferry to the nearby island in Phuket from -
- Rassada Pier - catch a boat to Phi Phi Island, Krabi, Koh Lanta
- Numchai Pier
- Sea Angel Pier
- Bang Rong Pier - get a boat to Koh Yao
If you want to hire a long tail boat then visit -

10. INTERCITY BUS -
You can catch the bus to Phang Nga, Krabi, Khao Lak and many more from the Old bus terminal in Phuket old town.
If you want to catch the bus for long-distance like Bangkok then visit the new bus station( PHUKET BUS TERMINAL 2) in Phuket. Its located in -
