Chiang Mai is the largest city in Northern Thailand. It's the capital city of Chiang Mai province. Chiang Mai is around 700 KM from Thailand capital Bangkok.

Chiang Mai means New city in Thai. Chiang Mai remains cool most of the time. The average temperature of Chiang Mai is 25°C. 

Northside of Chiang Mai shares its border with Myanmar. There are many things to do and see in Chiang Mai.

1.YI PENG FESTIVAL -

Yi Peng or Yee ping festival in Chiang Mai is celebrated every year between October and November months.

You can check its correct date on the internet. During this festival, you will see so many Lanterns (Khom Loy or Fai) flying in the sky. This view looks so amazing at night.

2. WAT PHRA THAT DOI SUTHEP TEMPLE -

Doi Suthep is famous because of its very beautiful Buddist temple known as Wat Phra That Doi Suthep. The view from this temple is so amazing.

                         

Wat Phra That Doi Suthep is 15 KM far from Chiang Mai city. Its located in Suthep district. The entrance fee for this temple is 50 Baht per person.

How to reach Doi Suthep -

1.By Songthaew -

You can catch a Songthaew from Huay Kaew Road near the Zoo, Wat Phra Singh, and next to the north gate. It will cost you 40 Baht. It a sharing songthaew so you need to wait till it full.

3. NIMMAN ROAD CHIANG MAI THAILAND -

Nimman Road is a popular place to visit in Chiang Mai Thailand. Nimman Road is full of restaurants, cafes, bars, shops, nightclubs, and hotels. This road is around 1.6 KM long.

Nimman Road starts from Maya shopping mall on Huay Kaew Road. Nimman Road is popular for its nightlife.

4. EAT KHAO SOI -

Khao soi is one of the most popular dishes in Chiang Mai Thailand. Khao soi is a yellow egg noodle dish with coconut milk curry and any kind of meat (most of the time its chicken).

SATURDAY NIGHT MARKET -

his market opens from 16:00 to 23:00 along the Wua Lai Road near the famous Silver Temple – Wat Sri Suphan.
