HOW TO REACH IN KRABI -

Bangkok to Krabi

BY AIR -

Krabi has its own airport domestic and international. The airport is around 14 KM from Krabi Town. Just use Grab App to book your drive, it's the best and cheapest way.

You can get a flight to Krabi from Don Mueang Airport Bangkok. And it takes around 90 minutes.

During peak season (November to April) flight price became double then low season. Book your tickets advance to get a little more good price.

BY BUS -

You can easily reach Krabi from Bangkok by bus. You can get a bus from the southern bus terminal Bangkok. It takes around 12 hours to reach Krabi from Bangkok by bus.

And Krabi town is around 5KM from the Krabi bus terminal.

By Train -

There is no direct train going to Krabi from Bangkok. If you want to travel to Krabi by train, you need to book it till Surat Thani. From here you can easily get a bus to Krabi.

That will take around 3 hours to reach Krabi.

You can get a train from Bangkok Hua Lamphong station to Surat Thani.

FROM PHUKET TO KRABI-

BY BUS -

You can get a bus to Krabi from the Main Phuket bus terminal (N2). This terminal is located just behind the Supercheap market Phuket.

The bus will takes 2.5 hours and the price is 150 Baht.

Things to do in Krabi Thailand

1. RAILAY BEACH -

This place consists of 4 beaches. This beach is just near to Ao Nang Beach. 

Around this beach, you will see so many big rocks. You will feel so amazing while you are here.

HOW TO REACH HERE -

The only way to reach here is by boat. Closest place from where you can get the boat to RailayBeach are -

Ao Nang, Krabi Town, Ao Nam Mao, and Nopparat Thara.

From Ao Nang, the boat ticket will cost 100 Baht one way. The ticket place is located at the end of Ao Nang Beach road. It will take around 15 minutes to reach Railay beach.

You can also get a boat from Krabi Town. Just go to Chao Fah Pier. The cost will be 150 Baht per person.

2. KOH PODA - 

Koh Poda is a very famous island in Krabi. Its only 6Km far from Ao Nang Beach and takes around 25 minutes to reach here. The price is 150 Baht for one person per ride.

Its a white sand beach island and everywhere you will see palm trees. There is also a resort here if you want to spend a night here known as the Poda Island resort.

The last boat departs from 3Pm.

3. EMERALD POOL -

If you are a nature lover then this place is for you. You should also visit Thung Teao Forest natural park that is just near to the Emerald pool. The water comes here from natural hot springs.

4. KOH HONG ISLAND -

This island has amazing scenery, soft white sand, and clear water. This island Is perfect for Swimming, Hiking, fishing, scuba diving, kayaking, and snorkeling.

You can hire a boat from Nopparathara Krabi, Railay, Klong Muang, and Ao Nang beach. It will cost you around 400 Baht per person.

You can not stay overnight in Koh Hong island.

5. TIGER CAVE TEMPLE OR WAT THAM SUA -

This place will give you an amazing spiritual and natural beauty experience. Tiger cave is around 6 KM from Krabi town. The main attraction in the temple is “Footprint of Buddha”.

To reach in Tiger cave, you need to step 1237 stairs. It's a little bit challenging but when you will reach on top, You will forget your tiredness.

But if you have a heart, Lungs, and breathing problems better don’t go. Climbing these stairs is very very tiring. Each stair is at least 1 foot in height.

It will take you around 40 minutes to reach on top. This temple opens from 8am to 5pm and there is no entrance fee.

Don’t forget to take enough water with you because you need this so much.

You will be amazed at all-around beauty. People are saying that once a tiger makes this cave as him home. You can also see tiger Footprints here.

Before coming to Tiger cave just remove your jewelry, Sunglass, cap, food because monkey here can get it. You can just zip all your kinds of stuff. And dress respectfully because you are in a temple.

You can easily reach here by Minibus, Songthaew, a private taxi, and Tuk-tuk from Krabi town. You can also reach here from Ao Nang.

6. PHI PHI ISLAND -

Amazing and beautiful island near to Krabi. This island is a part of the Marine National park. You can reach here by boat.

This island is famous for its beautiful white-sand beaches and crystal clear water.

Phi Phi Island consists of 6 islands -

> Koh Phi Phi Don - Largest and famous one. Beach, hotels, restaurants, and bars.

> Koh Phi Phi Leh - You can see here Maya Bay, Monkey Bay, Pileh Lagoon, and Viking cave.

HOW TO REACH IN PHI PHI ISLAND -

If you are in Ao Nang or in Karabi town you can book a boat from there to Phi Phi Island. It will cost you around 400 Baht on one side per person.

It takes around 90 minutes to reach here. 

Second You need to reach Klong Jirad (Most popular pier to go Phi Phi from Krabi), Nopparat Thara Pier( Ao Nang), Saladan pier (Koh Lanta) in Krabi to reach in Phi Phi Island. 

You can also reach Phi Phi Island from Phuket. From Phuket its take around 2 hours to reach here. You need to reach the “Rassada pier” in Phuket if you want to come to Phi Phi island.

> You can also book a group tour from Krabi town to Phi phi island from Online or Krabi itself. Their route will be -

How to reach Ao Nang from Krabi town -

Ao Nang is around 15 KM from Krabi town.

> Use Sangthaew - It's a shared small van that you can take from Krabi bus station and Krabi town. 

Songthaew runs to Ao Nang from Krabi every after 15 to 20 Minutes. And the fare is around 60 Baht.

The color of these Sangthaew is white that goes to Ao Nang from Krabi.  

> Use Tuk Tuk - This transportation mode can be a little expensive. Thay will charge around 300 - 400 Baht from Krabi to Ao Nang.

> Hire a Motorbike - This is the best and cheap way to explore Krabi. If you hire a motorbike for 1 day It will cost you around 200 Baht.

> Contact any travel agent in Karbai town. They will provide you transportation to Ao Nang.

> Rent a car - If you have an international driving license then you can rent a car easily in Krabi town.

1. Ride in the Shuttle bus from Krabi airport.

9. PHRA NANG BEACH -

This beach is just 1.3 KM far from Railay beach. So you can reach here by walking within 10 minutes from Railay beach.

Phra nang beach is more popular then Railay beach and has more crowed during tourist season.

There is also a cave here known as princes cave. This cave has a temple that is dedicated to the goddess of fertility.

10. TUBKAEK BECAH -

This beach is one of the beautiful and quiet beaches in Krabi. It a golden-colored sand beach stretch in 2 Km.

You will also find a lot of good accommodation here. Many good resorts here. This beach is surrounded by thick forest.

How to reach here from Krabi town -

> You can easily hire a taxi from Krabi town to Tubkaek Bech. That will cost around 700 Baht.

11. KHAO KHANAB NAM -

Khao Khanab Nam mountains are one of the most famous landmarks in Krabi. There is a river running between these 2 big limestone cliffs. The view here is so amazing.

HOW TO REACH KOH LANTA FROM KRABI -

> You need to reach Krabi piers like Chao Fa Pier or Ao Nang. Then take a ferry to Koh Lanta which will cost around 600 Baht if you take it from Ao Nang Pier.

These ferries only operate from November to April months. During the off-season, you can only reach Koh Lanta by minibus or car.

> You can ride in a minibus from Ao Nang and Krabi town. It will cost around 500 Baht.

So if you are coming by minivan or a car you will stop at Hua Hin pier. Then from there, you need to ride a ferry.
