How to file a complaint against police bad behavior in India

Sometimes police are misusing their power. They can harass, Bullying, and arrest you in any false case. So you should know how to complain about police bad behavior.



Before using these methods, you should have some proof of police harassment or bullying.

1. Police complaint authority -

If the police have done misbehave, fight, and bullying with you then you can take the help of the Police complaint authority or PCA.

Most of the state in India has its own PCA.

Here you need to send a copy of your registered complaint in Megistrait court, you are a medical report showing that you got injured by police, and a letter. In your letter write everything that happened to you.

Now you can post it or just give it to the police complaint authority in your area.

You can also send your complaint to the Vigilance department in your state. The procedure is the same.

2. Anti-courreption bureau -

The anti-corruption bureau is presented in every state in India. You can complain here if the police are demanding a bribe from you.

3. Meet with a lawyer -

If the police have done misbehave, fight, and bullying with you then just meet with a lawyer. Lawer will guide you on what to do. The lawyer will file your complaint in court.

You also need to submit proof of any violence done by the police. You need to do a medical examination.

4. Complain in Human rights Commission India   -

5. Complain in high-rank police officer -

You can also complain about any police misbehave to his seniours officers like SP, DIG, and DGP.

You can get their contacts online. Write a letter with your complaint and give it to the senior police officers.

You can also complain in the Home department of your state. The police department comes under the State Home department.
