A night of good sleep is very important for maintaining nice health. The key to a healthy lifestyle is - Eat good, Do exercise, and good sleep. Most of the time, we neglect good sleep because we don’t know why sleep is so important.

Most people think that if I will sleep less, it will not affect me at all. But it's only a myth.

If you keep on taking less sleep your Physical, Mental, and quality of life will suffer.

Why sleep is so important and how to sleep better

WHAT MAKES US SLEEP -

We have an internal clock in our body that regulates our sleep it's known as Circadian rhythms.

When its night time or dark our body releases a hormone called Melatonin. Then this Melatonin signals our body to prepare for sleep and makes you feel drowsy.

And when sunrise or our body feels the light, it releases a hormone called Cortisol. And this hormone makes our body to awake.

WHY SLEEP IS SO IMPORTANT -

1. Good for brain health -

Good sleep increases your concentration, productivity by maintaining better brain health.

Your chance of getting depression will be less if you take a good night's sleep.

During sleep, our body removes toxins from the brain.

A good night's sleep will improve your learning and problem-solving skills.

Everything we do in the daytime, the brain stored this information and make a memory. And this memory formation happens during sleep.

2. Maintain proper weight -

Lots of study shows that lack of good sleep increases weight in the body. So if you want a healthy weight then sleep well.

3. Heart problems -

During sleep, the body is healing itself and removing toxins. But not getting enough sleep will leads to deadly heart disease like High blood pressure and stroke.

4. Kidney disorders -

Lack of sleep is not good for the kidney. Because lack of sleep leads to Diabetes and high blood pressure and these conditions affect kidney functions.

5. Diabetes -

Lack of sleep also affects the production of insulin in our body. Due to this the blood sugar level in our body will go up and lead to Diabetes.

6. Road accident -

So many people are dying every year because of lack of sleep. They think they can drive well but it not true. And last they have to lose there life.

7. Boost immune system -

A good immune system means you will stay away from many common infections.

8. Good muscle -

During sleep our body releases many growth hormones and these hormones promote the muscle mass.

HOW TO GET A GOOD NIGHT SLEEP -

> Be active all day. Do exercise at least for 1 hour and walk at least 2 KM.

> Sleep and wake up the same time every day.

> Try Meditation just before sleep.

> Don’t take caffeine and nicotine before sleep. Caffeine and nicotine are brain stimulants.

They help you feel awake. So if you want to sleep better avoid caffeine and nicotine before bedtime.

> Turn off the light, if you can not sleep in dark then try less bright light.

> Don’t use any electrical equipment before 1 hour from Sleep. These types of equipment release a bright light and that makes you feel alert.

You can read a book.

You can do Meditation.

Don’t eat heavy meals in the night -

Our night meal should be light and without any processed food. If we eat processed food at night the blood sugar in our body went high and that leads to a night of bad sleep.

HOW MUCH SLEEP WE NEED -

7 hours at least for adults. If you are feeling fresh and energetic just after you woke up, it means you had a good sleep. But if you are tired then it means your quality of sleep is not good.
